From registration to a fully configured school management system — follow these four simple phases to get your school up and running.
Visit the BrainBit-SOMS homepage and click "Start Free Trial", or navigate directly to the registration page.
Enter your school's basic details to set up your institute profile:
Set up your administrator credentials. You'll use these to log in and manage your school.
Click "Create Account". You will be redirected to a confirmation page indicating that a verification email has been sent to your inbox.
Look for an email from BrainBit-SOMS with the subject line "Verify Your Email Address". If you don't see it within a few minutes, check your spam or junk folder.
Click the "Verify Email Address" button in the email. This link is valid for 24 hours.
You'll see a success confirmation page. Your account is now active and ready to use. A welcome email will also be sent to your inbox with helpful next steps.
Click "Login to Dashboard" from the verification success page, or visit the login page directly from the homepage.
Enter the email address and password you used during registration. Optionally check "Remember Me" to stay logged in across sessions.
After successful login, you'll land on the Admin Dashboard — your command centre showing key metrics: total students, today's attendance, fee collection, active classes, and more.
On your first login, the Setup Wizard launches automatically. Complete these 11 steps to configure your school — smart defaults and pre-populated suggestions make this quick and easy.
Update school name, board affiliation, medium of instruction, contact details, address, and principal name.
Create your current academic year with start and end dates (e.g., April 2026 – March 2027).
Add your school's classes. Pre-populated suggestions appear based on your school type (e.g., Class 1–12 for K-12).
Define sections for your classes (e.g., Section A, B, C).
Map which sections exist in each class using the interactive matrix interface.
Add subjects offered at your school. Pre-populated based on your board (e.g., CBSE standard subjects).
Assign subjects to each class using the matrix interface.
Configure exam types and their weightages (defaults: Unit Test, Half Yearly, Annual).
Set up grade boundaries (defaults to CBSE scale: A1 through E).
Define fee heads such as Tuition Fee, Admission Fee, Annual Charges, Exam Fee, Transport Fee.
Set per-class, per-category fee amounts using the matrix interface.
Access the Setup Wizard from the sidebar whenever you need to modify your school's configuration.
Use the Quick Actions panel on your dashboard to instantly mark attendance, collect fees, or post notices.
Invite teachers and staff by creating accounts via Director Tools → Manage Users.
Set up notices and circulars to keep parents, students, and staff informed across all channels.
Parents and students get their own dedicated portal access for viewing attendance, exam results, fee details, notices, and submitting leave applications — no app installation needed.
